Designed To Maximize Program Effectiveness Through Parent Support

Engaging a NEXT STEP FOR SUCCESS® parent coach while a teen or young adult is in program means families are collaborating with professionals who have decades of experience working in and with specialty schools and programs. We understand the process families go through in reaching the difficult decision to send their child to an out-of-home placement, and then trusting the program to do what is best for their child. We have worked with hundreds of families in providing the necessary emotional and skills-based support for this journey. 

Parents often feel a sense of loss and emptiness after finally reaching and implementing the decision to place their child in a residential school or program. Often faced with neglected relationships and self-care that had been put on hold, parents can benefit greatly from a positive, supportive relationship with an experienced parent coach.

Through regular coaching calls, the NEXT STEP coach assists parents in committing to personal and parenting growth that mirrors and supports the work their child is doing in program.

In addition, the NEXT STEP coach may serve as a professional partner in program and parent interaction. (See Program Consulting section)

Throughout the coaching, parents have the opportunity to choose from several topic issues for more educating and teaching around specific subjects that are of importance to the family - thus providing an even more individualized approach to the coaching relationship.  Some of the topics offered are:
