Designed To Create New, Positive Family Dynamics

Many parents struggle with establishing boundaries and implementing appropriate consequences. They may also experience an inability to communicate with and to understand their child.  Still other parents struggle with the personal, social and legal changes that come with their child moving towards independence. It is times like these that an experienced coach can provide the support and encouragement parents need to do what is right for themselves and their family.

At NEXT STEP FOR SUCCESS® we believe that parents are the most impactful models in their children's lives. As models, parents are more than teachers; they are lessons. This Plan is a skills-based coaching process for those parents who have a struggling teen or young adult still residing IN THE HOME, either fulltime or when circumstances dictate that they move home.

The NEXT STEP coach works closely with the family to establish home and family boundaries, develop a plan to create safety and accountability, and create a positive reinforcement model. 

The NEXT STEP coaching plan includes:

• Assessment Of Family Needs

• Immediate Support In Structuring A Plan For Success
• Continued Education On Parenting Techniques
• Defining Family Goals And Values 
• Support As Changes Are Implemented
• Cooperation And Collaboration With Other Professionals

• Enhancing New, Positive Family Dynamics
• Cooperation And Coordination With Other Professionals

The foundation of our work will be the creation and implementation of a Home Contract. This process begins with a visit, up to 2 days, with the family in their home. During this visit a family workshop is conducted to clarify Communication Skills and Family Values. This workshop will support the development of, and provide the foundation for, the Home Contract.
 

Throughout the coaching, parents have the opportunity to choose from several topic issues for more educating and teaching around specific subjects that are of importance to the family - thus providing an even more individualized approach to the coaching relationship.  Some of the topics offered are:

• Conflict Resolution

• Parenting Roles and Styles

• Fair Fighting Rules

• Parent's Guide to Growing Young Adults

• Negotiating with Your Teen or Young Adult

• Effective Communicating

• From 17 to 21 - What Changes and What Doesn't

• Surrendering Control and Gaining Influence

IN THE HOME Plan

Fee for All-inclusive 3-month Parent Coaching is $3300.  Plan includes: 

• Two day In-Home Visit for Family Workshop (approximately 10

   contact hours) 
• Home Contract Design
• 12 Coaching Calls - Up to 50 minutes each 

• Additional Email and Phone Support As Needed
• Travel expenses for Home Visit not included in fee
 

Coaching service without a Home Visit or home contract development:      6-call block for $750

Additional Services For Plan:

• Extension of Initial Contract:  $500 for a 4-call coaching block
